There has been an update to the Dean Guitars `Get Your Wings Shredder Search’ contest. Contestants no longer have to upload their vides to the Dean web site, but can now post their videos on YouTube, and submit the YouTube embed code. There has been an incredible response to this contest. Dean Guitars has received videos from over 35 countries. You can view and rate the videos here. Click here for the incredible prize list.

Each video should be 60 seconds in length, and display your best shredding skills. Click here to get tips on creating your own video and submit the YouTube embed code.

Guitarist of all skill levels and styles are encouraged to submit a 60-second video showing off their shredding skills. The videos will be judged by celebrity judges such as Vinnie Paul, Michael Angelo Batio, Leslie West, Matt and Corey from Trivium, Tom Maxwell from Hell Yeah!, Rusty Cooley, Vinnie Moore and Eric Peterson of Testament.

The grand prize winner will receive:

• An official Dean Artist Endorsement valued at $5,550
• A one-on-one clinic with a non-yet-announced Dean artist
• An all-expense paid trip to perform at the 2009 Dean Owners of America party in Tampa
• A one-of-a-kind, Bronze Dimebag II Sculpture from Knucklebonz. ($1000.00 value)

Jackson Guitars will be hosting the Riff & Destroy II competition during the event. Attendees are invited to get up in front of a camera and play their most metal riff. There will be five finalists chosen each day, who will be judged in a final competition held on Sunday the 15th by Phil Demmel of Machine Head. One winner will be chosen from that group. The grand prize is a signed Jackson Demmelition King V guitar.

The guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Standard with original specs that has been refinished to give it a vintage look. The guitar has a carved maple top, one-piece mahogany back, and a rosewood fingerboard with the “Slash-Profile”. Both neck and bridge pickups are Seymour Duncan™ Alnico Pro-II humbuckers.

The guitar is only available by special order. As expected, they are not cheap. Gibson lists the price at $5,880, but the Guitar Center web site lists them at $10,000.

I’ve never heard of this band before, but apparently they were quite popular on the Ozzfest tour. They ended up getting booted off the second stage though for being too young (The second stage was sponsored by Jägermeister). They also have this song on the Rock Star game.
