I was immediately impressed with the list when I saw George Lynch at the top, he certainly came to mind. The others don’t disappoint either. But the list is far from complete. Yngwie Malmsteen is just one of the glaring omissions.

The NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Show is where music companies showcase their newest gear. The event is held twice a year, once in the winter and another show in the summer, with the winter event (WNAMM) being the biggest.

Many guitar makers use the Winter NAMM show to release their newest models. In this NAMM video, B.C. Rich shows off some of their new models, including an insane looking double-neck guitar.

The winner was Hot Lixx Hulahan (Craig Billmeier), winner of the 2008 US Finals. He takes the title of Air Guitar World Champion from reigning champion Ochi ‘Dainoji’ Yosuke of Japan.

Hot Lixx was seemed quite surprised to win the title.

Honestly I did not anticipate to become a champion, I feel a little like broadsided about the whole thing. Ask me tomorrow morning, no make it tomorrow night actually. – Hot Lixx Hulahan, 2008 Air Guitar World Champion
