| If you watched the Live Earth concerts this past weekend, you may have seen the Gibson Live Earth Guitar. Gibson produced 25 of these environmentally-friendly custom guitars, which are based on the popular J-45 acoustic model and made from “rainforest friendly, FSC-certified mahogany”. These guitars were painted with the Live Earth logo and signed by the performing Live Earth artists. You will soon be able to bid on these on Ebay, where they will be sold and proceeds given to the Alliance for Climate Protection. |

Another company that donated earth friendly gear was Wheatware, who donated 3,240 biodegradable-compostable guitar picks to musicians performing at the Live Earth concerts, along with 272 pairs of biodegradable- compostable drumsticks. Wheatware makes products like chopsticks, flatware, clothes hangers and guitar picks, but instead of using plastic, their products are made almost entirely from wheat, and are designed to biodegrade within 90 days. Concert goers who went home with souvenir guitar picks may be in for a surprise.
