Gibson To Release New Models of Robot Guitar
Mar 24th, 2008 by Guitar MX Admin
| Due to popular demand, Gibson is releasing two new models of the self-tuning Robot Guitar. The first run Limited Edition Robot Guitars went on sale worldwide on December 7th 2007, and sold out in just 24 hours.
The two new models are the Robot Les Paul Studio Ltd Electric Guitar and the Robot SG Special Ltd Electric Guitar. These guitars look, feel and play just like the original Gibson LP Studio models, but have the Tronical Powertune self-tuning system, described here. The guitars cost about $2,500. They are available in Purple Metallic and, according to the Gibson web site, Green Metallic. Like the first run, there will only be limited quantities of these models. Although the guitars go on sale on March 28th, they can be preordered now through MusciansFriend.com. You can learn more about the Robot Guitars by reading this hands-on review by MusiciansFriend.com, or at the Gibson web site. |
