The resurgence in Heavy Metal music has translated into increased sales for many guitar makers, and the guitar makers with the most outrageous designs are benefiting the most.
Take Halo Custom Guitar, Inc. When they first went into business 5 years ago, they sold a mere 200 guitars per year. Now, they sell 200 to 300 guitars per month in direct sales, and another 200 to dealers, due to their wild designs which appeal to metal guitar players. “Ever since we started making more outrageous designs, we started selling more guitars,” Halo co-founder Waylon Ford told the Associated Press, “We really owe a lot to the metal genre.” Marc Minarik of Minarik Guitars also attributes their increased sales to the comeback of metal. |
