I think that sadly, the sound is in fact Ed. There’s no mistaking that distorted tone he’s getting these days.

He was much better when I saw him in February, though. Not sure what’s to account for this, unless he is drunk, as some suggest.

It sounds more like the StSanders “Eddie Shreds” treatment (which he’s done to everyone from Malmsteen, to Petrucci, to Slash, to Santana).

You think it’s fake? I think it’s definitely, and sadly real. It’s Ed’s tone, and there’s enough good playing mixed in with the garbage to hear that it’s him. I have read this kind of performance has not been uncommon during this tour. I don’t know if he’s drunk, but he clearly doesn’t care about the solo. I’m sure he gets bored playing Eruption every night.

Is this really Van Halen? WTF?! Is he drunk or what? If you look at the 0:51 moment, he is just about to fall or what? I have seen this video before, but frankly I didn’t believe is Van Halen
