Joe Satriani Comments on Chickenfoot Supergroup

| Back in May, the Guitar MX Blog brought you the story of a new Supergroup called “Chickenfoot”, featuring Joe Satriani, Sammy Hagar, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. Hagar claimed that the band would “rival” Led Zeppelin. Well, there’s more to report on this story. Satch gave an interview to MusicRadar recently, and discussed the new Supergroup. Although he downplayed the Hagar quote about rivaling Led Zeppelin, he did say that the music they’re working on sounds a lot like early Zeppelin.
We are truly over-the-top excited about this. It’s a very energetic kind of rock music that reminds you of early Zeppelin
Oh, and on that name. Satch promises that the final name of the group will not be Chickenfoot.
We just had to call it something for the time being. It’s definitely not going to be Chickenfoot. I guarantee it.

I wonder how well a team of stars will work together. Usually such teams don’t work on the long term.
