Oct 28th, 2007 by Guitar MX Admin
Metallica went acoustic and funk this weekend for a performance at the 21st annual Bridge School Benefit, held at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. They performed 8 songs, which included some unusual covers. The songs were videotaped and posted at Blabbermouth.net.
The songs they performed were:
- I Just Want To Celebrate (Rare Earth)
- Please Don’t Judas Me (Nazareth)
- Only Happy When It Rains (Garbage)
- Brothers In Arms (Dire Straits)
- Disposable Hereos
- All Within My Hands
- Turn The Page (Bob Seger)
- Nothing Else Matters
Here’s a video from the event. Metallica playing ‘I Just Want To Celebrate’.
A review of the performance can be read at the San Jose Mercury News. Photos from the event can be seen here.

Thats weird… I like the fact they are doing something different but James Hetfield’s voice sounds a bit too metal? Which is weird because I’ve heard them playing a country song and suited his voice really well!
Definatly too metal for some of those songs, but somehow it works.
