Rock House Donates Guitar DVDs to US Soldiers in Afghanistan

| Rock House produces instructional books, CD’s and DVD’s for guitar players and other rock musicians. Recently, they sent a donation of their products to some US soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. It all started when they got a letter from Jared Mcloughlin, a US soldier of the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, recently deployed to Afghanistan. |
Jared is a guitar player, and many members of his brigade are musicians of various skill levels. They had received some donations from various music companies, but had nothing to help them improve their skills. So Jared wrote a letter to Rock House saying “We have nothing to help the guys here develop there musical talents, if you guys could donate something, we would really appreciate it, we’ll use them on our days off and spare time”
So Rock House sent them some of their books and DVD’s, including the popular Learn Rock Guitar series, along with some cool RH swag, which arrived in Afghanistan on October 12, 2007.
“Every once in a while a really cool opportunity to make some one’s day a little brighter is presented to you, truth is we just make DVDs and books, these guys are risking their lives every day, I’m just glad we were able to do a small part to help them out!” said Joe Palombo, Executive Director of Rock House.
That’s pretty cool of Joe and John and the rest of the folks at Rock House. You can find Rock House products here, or at their web site.

Hey that’s awesome. Very cool.
I actually have Rock House’s Advanced Metal DVD. Probably a great series.
Is that any good?
Advanced Metal… I liked it. Some of it isn’t actually advanced, some of it is. A lot of it is gimmicky, but I actually learned a good bit from it.
The DVD goes from one exercise to the next without much explanation.
I’ve heard beginners say that Rock House for Beginners is also good.
Thank you so much for your contribution. Jared is my son, and I can personally tell you that your efforts have helped make this deployment easier for all the soldiers. I am sure they will be better musicians thanks to your kindness.
Whaaay for Jared!!
