Well, he’s no shredder, but he’s pretty good IMO, and wrote some great songs. You’re right about the brand thing though.

It would be interesting even if I don’t consider Slash a guitar hero. It is a bit too much. Indeed, he has an image and a brand, he IS a brand, but not a very good guitar player, in my opinion. I remember a Slash vs Sambora thing on the net at one point, that was the moment I have thought about Slash as an individual guitar player.
