Man, you are right! They rock, I have never thought about that but indeed, these are some recognizable guitars! However, I can not find Brian May’s “Red Special” which is certainly one of the most famous guitars. We could have also added Vai’s cut through guitar or Pau Gibson’s violin symbols, reverse neck guitar. But Red Special should have never been left outside the top.
I am idiot, I was thinking about other thing, I ment Paul Gilbert’s violin model.
What? No SRV #1? No Randy Rhoads V? No Geddy Lee or Lemmy Rickies? Kudos, though, for including Buck Owens’ axe…
There are a lot of classics on the list, but I was a little surprised that Brian May’s Red Special didn’t make the cut.
Number 9 and 18 should not even be on that list, and yeah why no Polka dot Rhoads V or Lennon Rickenbacker or Vai’s heart shaped triple neck!?
Overall, I thought the list was pretty good (with the exception of Billy Joe’s sticker covered guitar) but you guys brought up some really good ones that are missing.
And if Zakk’s bullseye Les Paul is on the list, then Randy’s polka dot Flying V should definitely be there too.
Jimmy Page’s ‘59 Les Paul (probably the most famous of all)?
Claptons SG painted by “The Fool” used in Cream?
Jeff Beck’s Esquire?
Chris Squires funky green bass?
George Lynch skull & bones guitar? Or his tiger stripe and Kamikaze guitars?
Steve Vai’s Floral pattern guitars, White Jem, and swirled paint Universes? His “Green Meanie”? His flame guitar from the DLR videos?
Lindsey Buckingham’s Turner guitar?
Merle Haggard’s tele as seen during the Dukes of Hazard tv show for many years?
Paul Stanley’s Mirrored Iceman?
Ace Frehley’s Cherry burst Les Paul w/ star inlays?
Leadbelly’s 12 string stella?
Pat Metheney’s Picasso Guitar?
Ted Nugent’s Byrdland & his zebra PRS?
Jeez, I could go on and on. I know you can’t put all of these in there, but they are all probably more famous than the green day or Foo Fighter guitars!
