Dec 17th, 2007 by Guitar MX Admin
Legendary guitar player Tommy Emmanuel canceled the Australian leg of his tour after becoming seriously ill while performing in the Netherlands. He was to tour in his native Australia for nearly the entire month of January. Tommy released this statement on his web site:
Dear Friends,
I’m taking some time to get my body and soul to where I’m at my best again. I couldn’t carry on at the pace I lived and realized I was out of control. Thank you for all your prayers, emails and messages of support. I appreciate you all so much and I promise to be the best I can.
Love,
TE
While Tommy’s receiving the care he needs, enjoy some of his amazing work.

Damn, that is sad news I hope he makes a speedy recovery he is one of my all time favourite players.
I’ve only recently been listening to him. He’s amazing.
Tommy is for me and so many others, one of the worlds finest,. He brought the guitar back to life for me. Just see how much of himself goes into his work. 100 per cent. thats for sure. Beautiful, person, player and ambassador for the instrument.
Please take it a little bit easier mate. We need You!
