Update to Shred Videos Copyright Dispute
Feb 9th, 2008 by Guitar MX Admin
There has been an update to the story of the ‘Shred’ videos being removed from YouTube recently. According to Wired, the videos were indeed removed due to copyright complaints; three of them in fact. As mentioned here earlier this week, these are parody videos, and are therefore not bound by US copyright law. But that didn’t stop You Tube pulling them.
Wired, which has been following this story, has decided to post the original Shred videos in all their glory. So if you haven’t seen them, you can check them out here. They are quite funny.
This video is the one believed to have triggered the whole affair. It’s a parody of Yngwie Malmsteen jamming with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.
You can view a video from the actual event here.
