Winter NAMM 2008 Wrap Up

| Today is the final day of Winter NAMM 2008, which started on January 17th in Anaheim, CA. NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) is once of the largest music gear trade shows in the world. The event is held twice a year, with the Winter NAMM show being the largest of the two. | ![]() |
Many guitar makers use the NAMM event to show off their latest models. Here are just a few of the new models showcased at WNAMM08:
- Fender announced their new American Standard Series guitars and basses.
- PRS Guitars showcased 12 new models, including the The Santana MD, co-created by Carlos Santana.
- Peavey debuted the Mike Stone Signature MS-1 guitar.
- J.C. Harper Luthier introduces the handcrafted Buck Dharma Signature Model electric guitar.
- Martin introduced the The Eric Clapton Limited Edition acoustic guitar, as well as the Elvis Presley Commemorative guitar.
The event is also about appearances and performances by world renowned musicians. Some of great guitar players who performed at the event were Joe Satriani, Dick Dale, George Lynch, Gary Hoey, Stu Hamm and Kenny Wayne Shepherd (Click on the artists’ name to see videos of their performance at WNAMM08).
